The Village of Lisle’s long history of “green” practices makes it the perfect green meetings destination, with four premier hotels—each a member of a green organization and practicing green—and with a plethora of nature-based attractions and surroundings, including the Morton Arboretum, parks and forest preserves.

 

 

GREEN INITIATIVES

 

Our Green Initiatives are:

 

• All notepads and writing paper are composed of 100% Post Consumer Waster (PCW)
• Meeting room notepads are available in the meeting room, but not placed at each place setting to reduce waste
• The Marriott Hickory Ridge Conference Hotel pen is produced using recycled materials.
• Meeting room water is served in pitchers reducing the number of plastic bottles utilized.
• eMenus are offered for all banquet functions.
• Individual and group guests receive eFolios to review their hotel charges
• Recycle bins are available in all meeting rooms, kitchen, and housekeeping departments.
• Meeting room tables are linen-free
• White Boards are available in all meeting rooms to reduce the use of paper flip charts.
• Energy efficient light bulbs are used in all areas of the hotel.

An Eco-Friendly “Hilton Meetings” room is currently available at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville

The Hilton Meetings product has evolved to insure, where possible, care is taken to minimize waste and maximize the usage of recyclable materials.  These initiatives include;

 

• Tables are no longer set with collateral, thus reducing waste
• All collateral must be printed on recycled paper or card using soy or vegetable based inks
• In-room waste system enables recycling of cans, bottles and paper as well as trash disposal
• Hilton Meetings furniture and fittings are as chrome-free as possible
• Sleek hard surface tables remove the need for linen and its’ cleaning processes
• Sweets are packages in recycled paper tubs

• Sustainable Operations

 

Investing in energy efficient appliances and resource conservation practices-     

      (1) Prints on both sides of paper       

      (2) Computers set to sleep mode when not in use       

      (3) All lights and computers, in all offices are turned off at the end of the business day.       

      (4) Compact fluorescent lights have been installed in all guest rooms and wherever practical throughout the hotel      

      (5) Motion sensors have been installed in offices to turn off overhead lights when no movement is detected.                (6) Motion sensors have been installed in the employee cafeteria to turn off overhead lights when no movement is detected.         

      (7) Energy efficient fixtures and lights have been installed in all “back of the house” corridors.       

      (8) All lights are turned off and heating/ac is set on low if no guest in room      

      (9) Guest shampoo, condition, body lotion and soaps have been reduced in size to better accommodate guest usage and reduce waste   

     (10) Shampoo, conditioner and lotion bottles are made from recycled plastic   

     (11) Water pressure has been reduced through the hotel to conserve water       

     (12) All guest room televisions are Energy Star rated       

     (13) All guest rooms and public areas have low flow toilets, low flow showerheads and low flow aerators on the faucets.
